My style is pretty simple and uncomplicated. Most of the time I wear t-shirts and jeans, with variations on jackets (motos or blazers), shoes (boots, booties or pumps) and accessories (necklaces, scarves, bracelets or earrings). In this post, I'm focusing on black jackets and plain t-shirts. Keep reading for more!
In the first look, I paired a pocket t-shirt with a blazer and statement necklace. I bought this jacket a few years ago at Macy's. I previously spent many years wearing pantsuits, dresses, skirts and heels (mostly pumps) to work every single day. To be honest, I dressed much older than my age at the time. I still have some of the blazers and suit jackets I wore back then, but now, I dress more casually and can express more of my style at work, skulls, studs and all ;-)! Every once in a while I set aside the moto/biker jackets for certain meetings. Although I wore a blazer in this look, I paired it with jeans.
My pocket t-shirt is from H&M. It has a scoop neck and rounded hem. It's one of my go-to pieces. Lastly is this necklace. It adds a little bit of edge with various sizes and finishes in the chains. It's likely I bought it at Target, Kohl's or JCPenney, which is where I had been getting my jewelry, I just don't remember exactly where I got it.
For the next look, I paired my t-shirt and jeans with a lace tuxedo jacket and chunky chain necklace. I don't own very many lace pieces, but I love this jacket. It dresses up whatever you're wearing. The shiny lapels are another classy touch to what's typically associated with menswear.
This t-shirt is the same one from H&M as earlier in this post. Rounding out the look is the necklace. I purchased this several years ago from HRH Collection. It's called The Original Cuff. It's not a full double chain, it ties around the neck. Don't get me wrong, it has some weight, but it's certainly not too heavy.
I really can't talk about black jackets without including a moto/biker jacket. I posted about this BlankNYC "Easy Rider" jacket before (check out my posts here and here). It's one of my favorites and I wore it a lot during the cooler months here in Texas. This one is a little heavier than others I own, so with the temps warming up I won't wear it as much in the summer. Speaking of summer, I purchased this jacket at last year's Anniversary Sale at Nordstrom.
My v-neck t-shirt is from Eddie Bauer (!). Like most of the pieces in this post, I've owned it for years. It's held up well and I still wear it often. Thank you so much for reading this post. Keep scrolling for more photos and to shop this look (exact or similar, contains affiliate links).
